Most of the cleaning that happens when doing laundry is actually done by the water and not the detergent. You could, quite possibly, get by most days with just running your gym clothes through a quick wash/rinse/dry cycle with no detergent at all. Then when you do your main wash for the week, go ahead and use soap then, and they'll get extra-clean. I just had a thought on another option.
